Virginia Colter Obituary

Virginia Lee Colter Passed away at her home in Yuba City on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the age of 84. She was born in Warner, Oklahoma on December 15, 1925. A resident of Yuba City for the past 43 years. She was a Clerk at the Yuba City High School for 19 years. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Marysville, and was a 49 yr. member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She served her patriotic duty during W.W.II as a Welder on Liberty Ships working in the Richmond Ship Yards. She is survived by her son, James McKee of Yuba City, daughter, Peggy Taylor (Duane) of Loma Rica, and a brother Raymond McDaniel (Betty) of Sacramento. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Colter. Funeral Services will be held at the Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City, on Friday, September 17th at 11:00 am followed by burial at the Sutter Cemetery in Sutter, CA. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7pm. The family would appreciate memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association. I remember Virginia from her days as a Clerk at Yuba City High. She was the sweetest, kindest & most compassinate office person at the Yuba City High . She always had a beautiful smile for every student. She left such a possitive impression on me, I still remember her after all these years. I know she will be missed...
