Albert H. Hurdle, 85, of Yuba City, California, passed away on February 1, 2013.

He was the son of Mary and Henry Hurdle. Albert attended Yuba City High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1952. Albert met Joy, his wife of 60 years while stationed at Camp Carsen, Colorado. They married in Denver, Colorado in October 1952 and returned to California, and build his house in the southern outskirts of Yuba City.
Al was trained as an auto mechanic in the Military, a skill that served him well all his life. He operated a gas station at 5th and J St. in Marysville in the early years, eventually going to work for Gilpatric Oil Distributors. Al delivered diesel fuel and oil to the farmers in the Yuba-Sutter area for over 30 years. He was an artist and a handyman, building his own home from the ground up. For ten years, Al was a volunteer Firefighter for Oswald-Tudor Fire Department and served as Chief. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, square dancing, and playing bridge with his family and friends.
Albert is survived by his wife, Joy; and three children, Karen, Brian, and David; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 2:30 PM at the Lakeside Colonial Chapel, Marysville, California.
