Alexander Helppi Obituary

Alexander Helppi of Clipper Mills passed away on November 18, 2015. Alex was born on October 16, 1951 in Mohawk, Michigan to Leo and Ruth Helppi. Alex was a great brother growing up with and we had tons of boyhood adventures.

In 1966, the family moved to Westminster, California. Alex graduated from Westminster High School. He was drafted into the Army and served a year in Vietnam as a military policeman. Try to imagine that!

Alex was married to Patricia Suhonen in 1974. Sadly, Patty was killed in a car train wreck in 1976. Alex was remarried to Ann Sullivan in about 1980 and they had one daughter, Michelle. Michelle had Alex's only grandchild, Rachel, who is now 14 years old. Unfortunately this second marriage ended in divorce.

Alex worked many jobs as opportunity presented. He was a skilled machinist for many years. He did custodial work for many years. He excelled at anything he turned his hand to.

Music was Alex's love. Everyone he came in contact with soon came to know his passion for music.

Now Alex has passed away from a bad cancer.

He is survived by his daughter Michelle and granddaughter Rachel, both of Marquette, Michigan. Also surviving are two brothers, Leo of Bruce Crossing, Michigan and Mark of Plymouth, Minnesota; two sisters Gail of Mohawk, Michigan and Angela of Perris, California, along with many nieces and nephews and many, many friends.

We all love Alex and wait to see him on the other side.

Services are pending at Grizzly Creek Christian Fellowship in Clipper Mills. Contact Pastor Don (530) 675-2625 for service information.
