Alfred James Free Obituary

Alfred, 92, of Yuba City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 31, 2012. He was born March 11, 1920 in Bradford County, Arkansas.

Alfred served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the South Pacific. A resident of Sutter County for 55 years, he was employed as a heavy equipment operator and a 54 year member of Operating Engineer Union Local #3. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Yuba City.

Alfred was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Vivian Free, a son Alan Free, and brothers; Kenneth and John Free.

Survivors include his daughter Barbara Lawson (Richard) of Yuba City, son John Free (Linda) of Pearcy, Arkansas, granddaughter Fanci Free of Martinez, California, and brother Clyde Free of Montrose, Colorado.

Private family services were held. Burial was at Sutter Cemetery in Sutter.
