Alice Bower Obituary

Alice Jane Bower 85, passed away peacefully at her residence on September 9, 2010. She was born October 25, 1924 in Hamilton, Ohio to John McKinney and Molly Myrtle Hubbard both from Kentucky. Her family eventually moved to Marshall, Arkansas where she met her future husband Charley Everett Bower. They were married in Visalia, CA. Their journeys ultimately led them to the Yuba/Sutter area where she lived in Olivehurst for the past 54 years. She was a housewife, spending summer seasons working at various fruit processing plants. Alice loved working in her yard, fishing, and creating joy for others by crocheting Afghan blankets and giving them to her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Charley. Surviving are her daughters Virginia (John) Browning of Olivehurst and Mary (Larry) Robertson of Arboga; two grandchildren Stacy Bruemmer and Eric Robertson; five great grandchildren: Mikayla Royat, Alayna and Ryland Koen, Reina and Christian Bruemmer. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Dallas Duncan of Leslie, AR, Elsie Caffey of Martinsville, IN, Herbert, Walter, Donald, John McKinney Jr. all of Tulare, CA, and Pauline McKinney of Helena, MT. A graveside service will be conducted on September 16, 2010 at Sierra View Memorial Park at 11:00AM. A visitation period will be held from 10:00AM- 10:45AM in the cemetery chapel.
