Amrik Singh Dulai
Amrik Singh Dulai, 80, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2016 at his home in Live Oak, surrounded by his loving and caring family. Amrik was born on May 12, 1935 in Henzada, Burma to Beant Kaur Dulai (Poonia) and Gajjan Singh Dulai. He moved to India at the age of 7, and then moved from his village of Partabpura to California in 1957. On December 22, 1963, he married Inderjit Kaur Dulai in India, and in 1965, the young couple started their own farm in Live Oak, California, growing peaches and prunes. Amrik spent the rest of his life living on his farm. He ultimately lived in Live Oak for 59 years and was also a member of the California Cling Peach Association.

Amrik dedicated his life to his family, who he loved more than life itself. He was well known for his benevolent and loving personality. Always desiring to help those he loved, Amrik consistently kept his door open for others and provided a home for numerous family members and friends. The generous and caring actions of Amrik have made a permanent mark on the rest of his family, inspiring them to emulate his admirable ways in their daily lives. Moreover, his incessant dedication to family allowed his children and grandchildren to experience the love of an extended family.

Amrik was preceded in death by his father and mother, his brothers Harjit Singh Dulai, Pritam Singh Dulai (Pritam), Kuldip Singh Dulai, his sisters Manjit Kaur Gill (Ram), and Rajinder Kaur Johal (Puran).

He is survived by his wife Inderjit of Live Oak, his children Tejinder Dulai-Basra (Narinder) of Live Oak, Sukhraj Dulai (Fawn) of Yuba City, Harkamal Dulai and Hardeep Dulai, both of Live Oak, his grandchildren Saihej Basra of Live Oak, and Jalen Dulai and Jasmin Dulai of Yuba City, his brother Dalip Singh Dulai (Sundri) of San Jose, his sister-in-law Sukhjinder Kaur Dulai of New York, his brother Swarn Singh Dulai (Surinder) of Virginia, and his sister Harjit Kaur Atwal (late Jagjit) of Live Oak. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great-nephews, and great-great-nieces.

Prayer and cremation services will begin at 11:00 am at Chapel of the Twin Cities located at 715 Shasta Street, Yuba City, California 95991 on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, officiated by Giani Sahib Singh. Langar and Bhog services will follow at Sikh Temple Yuba City, in Tierra Buena.
