Anthony Joseph (Tony) Luis Sr. Obituary

Anthony (Tony) Joseph Luis Sr., 83, of Marysville, CA, took his place in heaven on May 23, 2015. Born in Gridley, CA on November 11, 1931, he was a Yuba-Sutter resident and the owner/operator of Luis Dairy in Marysville for 60 years. Tony was a proud Portuguese man, he possessed such strength and character; he loved his wife, his family, football, baseball, rodeo, draft horses and boy did he love food. He was loved and respected by so many and will be missed greatly.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Zelma Luis; sons Michael Luis and daughter-in-law Debra Luis, Dan Luis, David Luis and daughter-in-law Mandy Luis, all of Marysville; daughter Ida Hulsey and son-in-law Jerry Hulsey of Yuba City; grandchildren Amanda Arroyo of Yuba City, Micheal Luis Jr. of Elk Grove, Leslie Luis of Sacramento, Megan Luis of Marysville, Jerry Alan Hulsey of Yuba City, Allison Sutton of Marysville, Jacob Luis of Marysville, Katrina Murphy of Yuba City and Edward Johnson of Oregon; great grandchildren Andraya Arroyo, Izabelle Arroyo, Anthony Arroyo, Izaac Arroyo, all of Yuba City and Melanie Luis of Marysville. Aunts Mary Vierra and Margaret Stanton, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father John Luis; mother Ida Luis; brother John Euguene Luis and son Anthony (Tony) Joseph Luis Jr.

Tony was a member of the Loma Rica Grange, Yuba Sutter Farm Bureau, St. Joseph Catholic Church, Stanislaus Draft Horse Association, Portuguese Festas of Gridley and Orland, CA and the Western United Dairyman Association.

Services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, Jue 4, 2015 at St. Joseph's Church in Marysville, CA. Arrangements by Lakeside Colonial Chapel, (530) 749-9277.
