Arthur Scott Obituary

Arthur Lee Scott was born in Birmingham, AL on October 12, 1951 to Robert and Everlois Scott and was the oldest of four. Later they relocated to Buffalo, NY. After high school, he attended Canisius College in which he participated in football and track. He left college to join the United States Air Force. His military service included the SWAT team in Knob Noster, MO and Beale AFB Strategic Air Command with the SR71's.

After the military he attended Yuba College and worked at Juvenile Hall before employment with the Sutter County Sheriff's. Dept. as a Corporal. Art served the Sutter County community for numerous years and was awarded Officer of the Year.

With health conditions developing, he took a lesser role in law enforcement as an armed security guard. He was a foster parent for 20 years. He was well involved with his children, whether giving advice or volunteering in all sports. Win or lose, he loved his Buffalo Bills. Even though Art and Susan were divorced, they remained very close friends.

Art is preceded in death by his mom, Everlois Scott.

He is survived by children, Greg Scott (Grace), Andre Scott and Sherrae Scott; grandchildren, Grace, Faith, Hope, Anthony and Isaiah; dad Robert Scott, sister Elaine Champion and 3 brothers, Chris, Robert and Melvin Scott, all of Buffalo, NY, numerous nieces and nephews; special aunts "Agnes" Mary Green of Birmingham, AL and Zephrine Scott of Buffalo, NY; cousins, Rose N. Watson and Shirley Griffin of Buffalo, NY; and his dear, devoted friend Susan.

Visitation will start at 11:00 am, followed by services at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Ullrey Memorial Chapel with Military Honors and Beale AFB Honor Guards. Pastor Robert Cox of Bethel AME Church will officiate.
