Benjamin (Ben) Carranza Obituary

Benjamin (Ben) Carranza went to his heavenly home February 9, 2015. Per Ben's wishes, he was able to pass away at home surrounded by family. Ben was born March 31, 1953 in Colusa, California. He was a lifelong Colusa resident who loved his hometown and its people. He worked for the City of Colusa Public Works for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and school sports for his grandkids, in which he never missed a game. He also enjoyed the endless rides in and around Colusa.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Katherine (Casey); his loving daughter, who was always there, Nancy Irene English Savage; his greatest loves were his grandchildren, he was always their Hero, David Benjamin Mobley Ramirez (Liz) of Chico, Katie Beth Mobley of Yuba City, Emily Ann Mobley of Yuba City, Jasmine (Porkchop), Jordan and Chelsea Savage of Colusa; brothers Ray Carranza (Lois) of Woodland, Martin Carranza of Nevada; sisters Anita Miller (Joe) of Maxwell, Emma Bryant (Bill) of Nevada, Amelia Chenowith of Yuba City; sisters-in-law Nancy Nokes (Dale) of Colusa and Jeannie Hoff (Eric). Numerous nieces and nephews as well as his two faithful buddies Bandy and Scooter.

Ben was preceded in death by grandson Dylan Austin Mobley; parents Martiniano and Dolores Carranza; brothers Manual and Ernie Carranza; his loving in-laws Joseph and Nancy Mahorney; brother-in-law Joey Mahorney; sister-in-law Josie Mahorney.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2015, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the McNary-Moore Chapel. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 18, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mc-Nary-Moore Chapel followed by burial at the Colusa Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Ben's name to the Colusa Assembly of God Church, 1747 Highway 20, Colusa, CA 95932.
