Bertha Eileen Crout, age 86, of Marysville, CA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 16, 2017. Eileen was born on May 29, 1931 in Helena, Montana to Walter Raymond Steller and Bertha Henrietta (Austin) Steller.

Eileen was a devoted Wife, Mom, Mama, Grandma and Grammy. She worked as a waitress and an assembly line worker. She was a Girl Scout leader and volunteered in all her girls' activities. She loved Jesus and telling others about Him. She was an artist, adding her personal touch to most everything she owned.

After she retired, she spent hours painting beautiful wooden whirligigs her husband created. You could find them on Saturday mornings at the Farmers Market. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marysville. She loved to sing, dance, sew, read, crochet, play pinochle and bingo. She loved sparkly jewelry and clothing. Her dog Buzzy and her collection of angels brought her great joy.

Eileen is survived by her brother, William Steller, Ventura, CA; children: Correen and Byron La Counte, Anaheim, CA, Terry and Glen Raley, Marysville, CA, and Lynn Hill, Vida, OR; grandchildren: Kevin and Dorothy La Counte, Scott and Diana La Counte, Austin and Danell Hill, Aric and Lauren Hill, Bethany Knight, Douglas and Maribel Raley, and Timothy Raley, great-grandchildren: Hannah, Sarah, and Joshua La Counte, Miko La Counte, Preston, Noah, and Alice Hill, Avery, Logan, and Lucas Hill, and Levi and Grace Knight.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Doug Crout; her parents; brothers, Frank Steller and Edward Steller; and grandchildren, Becky La Counte and Mordecai La Counte.

A Celebration of Life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Marysville, CA, on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 11:00 am. A reception will follow. Private interment will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, CA.
