Betty Frates Obituary

Betty L. Frates, born June 24, 1927, of Yuba City, passed away July 23, 2017. Born Betty Loleta Bell in Grants Pass, Oregon to parents Eugene Clarence Bell and Lula Augustine Bell, she graduated from Mountain View High School and worked off and on for the next 40 years primarily as a bank teller in San Jose, Hayward and Gridley.

She married John E. Dugan in 1957 and they raised 3 children, Patricia, John (Mike) and Kelli in Hayward, CA. After John's death she married Bartell J. Frates of Gridley, CA. Following Bart's death she lived in Yuba City for several years. A quiet and content person she enjoyed years of attending church at Calvary Chapel of Gridley.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Daddow and grandsons Justin Daddow and Charlie Daddow. She is survived by son John (Lesa) Dugan and daughter Kelli (Dino) Kirk, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery followed by a reception at Calvary Chapel Gridley.

The family would like to thank the administration and staff of Summerfield Assisted Living of Yuba City for their consistent, compassionate and professional care to Betty.
