Betty Lou Knorr Obituary

Betty Lou Knorr was born on October 28, 1935 in Seattle, Washington to Arthur and Lillian Trepp. She died on June 6, 2015 in Sutter, California.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Warren Trepp.

She was married to Bill Knorr in Seattle in 1956 and sealed to him in Oakland LDS Temple in 1983. Bill and Betty have 3 children -- Bruce Knorr of Pleasant Grove, Utah, Julie Knorr Allen of Draper, Utah and Susan Knorr Denton of Sherwood, Oregon. They have 11 grandchildren and a great granddaughter due in July.

Betty earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics Education from the University of Washington in 1957. She taught Home Economics in Washington and California in Junior and Senior High Schools. Her last position was to teach Home Ec. at the Juvenile Hall in Marysville during the 1970's and 80's.

She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1977 and has been active in numerous callings during that time. Some of these include Stake Relief Society President and Ward Relief Society President twice. Her calling in Public Affairs initiated the Creche Exhibit in our Stake and also the Family of the Year, which is a community activity now. More recently she has participated in local politics.

She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren, play tennis, read, knit and crochet.

The services will be at the LDS Stake Center, 1470 Butte House Rd. in Yuba City on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 10:00 am. A viewing will precede the service at 9:00 am. A graveside service will follow at the Sutter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donate to the Hands of Hope.
