Carl Dean Threlkeld passed away October 30, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield, California.

Carl was born June 3, 1945 in Bakersfield, California. He spent his youth growing up in Gridley, California and later in life moved to Bakersfield, California. He joined the Navy in 1964, serving on both the USS Mauna Kea and the USS Haleakala, delivering ammunition to the fleet during the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Reba Threlkeld; brother, Jimmy Threlkeld; and sister, Shirley Threlkeld.

He is survived by brothers, Wayne Threlkeld of Bakersfield, California, Arvin Threlkeld of Live Oak, California; sisters, Sharon Cummings and Verna Edwards both of Yuba City, California; girlfriend, Nancy D'Angelo of Bakersfield, California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held on November 1, 2013, at Bakersfield National Cemetery, 30338 E Bear Mountain Blvd, Arvin, California.
