Charles A. Epp Sr. Obituary

Charles (Chuck) Epp, Sr., 77, of Live Oak, California, passed away February 22, 2017, due to complications following heart surgery.

Chuck was born October 3, 1939, attended Yuba City High School and became a permanent resident of Live Oak in 1966. He was employed in the auto paint/body business since the age of 15 and went on to own C & C Bump Boutique in Live Oak from 1978 until retiring in 2006.

He was deeply involved with the community working with The Fall Festival and Parade yearly and served on the Live Oak City Council from 2000-2008, was Vice Mayor in 2003, and Mayor in 2004. He served on many committees including Regional Housing Authority of Sutter and Nevada Counties, Live Oak Economic Development, Finance, Public Safety, Loan, and Streets/Lights and Traffic. Live Oak Community Building, Feather River Air Quality Management, League of Ca. Cities, Sutter/Yuba Mosquito and Vector district and a great many others.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife and best friend Gwen Epp of over 40 years, son Charles Epp Jr. of Gridley, Ca., daughter Jonel Epp of Victorville, Ca., son Tony Epp ofLive Oak, Ca., stepson Leon Ford, stepdaughter Kathy Pendergrass and stepdaughter Cherry Morton. 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Chuck enjoyed refinishing and restoring all types of projects after retirement, time fishing with family and friends, gardening and reading books. He enjoyed having deep conversations with people and was well known by many to give fatherly advice.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at The Fathers House, 10720 Live Oak Blvd, Live Oak.
