Charles Raymond (Sunny) Davis was born May 2, 1935 in Flint, Michigan to Clyde and Stella Davis.
At the age of ten his family moved to Stockton, CA where he graduated from High School and raced stock cars. In 1956 he moved to Williams where he met Betty Jo Montgomery. They were married in 1957. In 1966 they moved to Chico. Except for a short time spent from 1988-1990 in Clearlake where they owned a Pizza business, Sunny drove tanker trucks for Shell Oil and Northgate.
Sunny enjoyed hunting, fishing, building things, was active in church most of his life, and he gained the most joy from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Sunny died at home on Friday, June 1, 2012.
Those that meant the world to him include his wife; Betty, sons; Dennis and Dan (Cheryl), a brother- in-law; Bill (Ann) Montgomery (who was more like a son to Sunny) and three special grandchildren; Nicole, Jacob and Mark as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son Mark in 1984 and three brothers; Ray, Jim and Bill.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Williams Cemetery, Williams, CA. Followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m., at Newton- Bracewell Funeral Home in Chico.
