81, born July 17, 1930 to Charlotte and Emery Counts in Yuba City. Entered into rest April 13, 2012. Graduated from Live Oak High School, Morgan Hill, CA.

While attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he enlisted in the US Navy. A veteran of the Korean and Viet Nam wars, he retired after 21 years as a Storekeeper First Class, SK1 with four Good Conduct Medals and a Navy Achievement Medal. Attended Sierra College and studied Ornamental Horticulture. Worked as a Groundskeeper for several high schools in Placer and Sacramento Counties. Later retired from Diamond International and Sunset Molding as a Night Watchman.

A Life member of the Judge W.E. Tucker VFW Post 2563 in Yuba City and was Commander twice. Charter member and President of the Fleet Reserve Assn, Mother Lode Branch 296 in Auburn.

Preceded in death by his brother Howard, twin sisters Beverley, Barbara, father and mother.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta, sons Michael, Randal, Joel, Karl, brother Glen and sisters Marjorie, Shirley, Virginia, Diana, and Bonnie, 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at the Lakeside Colonial Chapel, 830 D Street, Marysville, Friday, April 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM. He will be interned at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
