Charles Hendershot Obituary

Charles Hendershot, 84, of Yuba City, CA, passed away on March 22, 2015 at Rideout Hospital. Charles was born on June 30, 1930 at Westfield, PA. He was a retired Sutter County Appraiser, and has been a Yuba-Sutter resident for 60 years. Charles served for the U.S. Air Force (SAC) from 1947-1956 and was a member of the (SAC) Strategic Air Command for five of those years. He was a volunteer for several organizations such as Moose Lodge for 30 years, Fire Dept. of Walton for 40 years, and a volunteer for Sutter County Boat Patrol for 5 years as well as Sutter County Sheriff's office.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Patricia Hendershot of Yuba City, CA, sons; Greg Hendershot of Marysville, CA, and Wayne Hendershot of Placerville, CA, grandchildren; Tamara Hendershot, Daniel Hendershot both of Yuba City, CA, Sam Hendershot and Jessica Hendershot both of Vacaville, CA, brother Gordon Cumberland of Morrisville, PA, great grandchildren, Makaio Hendershot as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother Harold Hendershot of PA, parents Charles and Lucille Hendershot of PA, sister Florence Simes of PA.

Ullrey Memorial Chapel Funeral Home will be taking care of the arrangements. It will be held on Friday March 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., following funeral at Sierra View Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Moose Lodge at 1:00 p.m. on April 1, 2015.
