Charles was a graduate of Fresno High School and Hartnell College in Salinas. He led a full life that included a honorary service in the U.S. Navy from 1943 - 1945. When he left the Navy, he returned home in Fresno and worked as an automotive machinist for the next 7 years. During the Korean War, he felt another calling to serve his country and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 - 1972. Charles retired from the U.S. Air Force after twenty years of service. When Charles retired, it was certainly not the end of his working career as he went on to accomplish countless other endeavors which included: Real estate agent; employee for McCormick Schilling, equipment sales, mobile home transporter, driving the school bus for the Yuba-Sutter head Start Program, salesman for AAA All California Paving, salesman for North Valley Diesel, independent contracting and he worked as an ATM technician. Charles had many other various business pursuits during his lifetime but they are too numerous to name, just know that Charles was very creative, optimistic and was always inspired to pursue profitable undertakings.

Charles belonged to the Moose Lodge, 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, Lions Club, Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and SIRS.

Charles would like all of you to know that his life and work here on earth is completed. He accepted an offer from our Lord and Savior, which included a reunion with his loving family and friends that he has not seen in a very long time. His new life will be in a magnificent place in which he will not feel discomfort, pain and will no longer suffer with lengthy medical procedures and unending treatments. He will be able to dance to his heart's content, fly his model airplanes and be surrounded by the people he loved. Although Charles tried valiantly to stay with us by bravely fighting his many health conditions, he reluctantly realized it was time to leave us.

As his family, our hope, as is his, that each person will remember him with fondness. Thank you for being a part of Charles' life and when you think of him, remember him with a smile.
