Charles Michael Gonder Obituary

8/27/1954 - 8/31/2014

Chuck passed away Sunday morning in Marysville, CA, four days after his 60th birthday.

A conventional obituary cannot capture the life of this man. Who he was can't be contained by where he lived or his employment history. Words, even these, will not and can not define him.

Ever the optimist, Chuck lived a life full of love and kindness, emphasized by his unflagging belief in humanity. He was the first to give the shirt off his back or his time and effort to a person in need. He was beloved by many and treasured above his peers. Chuck lived with such an open heart, he touched the lives of a far greater scope of people, forming a community centered around family and friends that can't begin to describe how much impact he had.

Chuck did everything to the fullest. He loved to ride bikes and fish, watch sports and racing, and contributed to his community. He was heavily involved in the Yuba City Special Olympics as a coach and mentor.

He has left an extreme empty spot in the hearts of his beloved wife, Charline Gonder, his children Charles Gonder and Cirsten Gonder, adopted children Lori Michener (Chris) and Brandon Lamb and his sister Diane Wareing (Charlie)

He is also survived and remembered by his mother-in-law, Mabel Carter, sister-in-law Janie Hood (Ronnie), devoted nurse and friend, Michelle Emory and of course his perfect puppy, "Shamus".

"I'm wonderful." Chuck would always respond when asked how he fared. And he TRULY was. You will be missed, Chuck. Missed and remembered by so many.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014, at 2:30 p.m., at the Marysville Art Club, 420 10th Street, Marysville.
