Christopher Allen Boroff Obituary

Christopher Allen Boroff, 61, passed away at home surrounded by the ones he loved after his brief, but tremendous, fight against cancer on October 7, 2015.

Chris was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan, on December 3, 1953. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. With the end of his tour in Vietnam, Chris went on to work at the White House under President Richard Nixon. At the end of his military service, he made California his home. Chris was a very hard and dedicated worker for Sunsweet Growers, for 32 years. He often set records on the cylinders, fiber bins, and juice lines with his best friend and fellow employee Jim Fox. For years, Chris was also a well-respected softball coach for Bobby Sox Softball and Little League.

Chris was a loving husband, father, and an amazing Papa to his three grandchildren, who as far as he was concerned, the sun rose and shined on them. His tough exterior as the "Grumpy Old Man" turned him into a marshmallow with a single smile from any one of his three grandchildren. Every Saturday, you would find him at the top of the bleachers rooting on his grandsons and granddaughter during their football and cheerleading, no matter where they played. Chris was also an incredibly loyal friend who would give you the shirt off his back or words of wisdom if needed. He was a wealth of knowledge, a great story teller, and could make anyone laugh with his endless jokes. Chris was a devoted Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and Michigan State fan...It's true that you can take the man out of Michigan, but you can't take Michigan out of the man.

Chris is survived by his wife, Regina Boroff of Yuba City. His son Samuel Boroff of Marysville. Daughter Mary and her husband David Brackett and his three grandchildren David, Emma, and Chance Brackett, all of Marysville. His father Jerry Boroff and sister Linda Derry and husband Dave of Florida. His brother Tim Boroff and sisters Shana Hockenmeyer and husband Steve, Karen Jolly and husband Buddy, and sister-in-law Diana LeBlanc, all of Michigan. His mother-in-law Mary Fletscher and brother-in-law Victor Jones both of San Jose. His best friend and brother James L. Fox of Yuba City and longtime friend Mark Nietsche of Marysville. Chris also leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother Kay Boroff, stepmother Ann Boroff, and brother Mark LeBlanc.

Graveside services will be held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Rd., Dixon, CA, on Friday, October 30, 2015, at 1:30pm.
