Claire Dutil Obituary

Claire Dunseath Dutil entered peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on January 7th, 2011 at Colusa Regional Hospital. Claire was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. She graduated from Reno High School in 1951. Her studies continued at Sacramento Junior College where she completed the nursing program and graduated as a registered nurse. While attending college she met her future husband, Robert Dutil. They were married in Carson City, Nevada and settled in Williams, California. Claire was a dedicated 4-H volunteer, serving as camp nurse and sewing leader for many years. She was an active member of the Williams Neighborhood Church and also served as the camp nurse at the Alliance Redwoods summer camp. Valley West Convalescent Hospital was a large part of her life. She worked there many years as a registered nurse. For about 35 years she held a weekly Bible study for the patients. She also volunteered and assisted patients with attending church. The last 15 months of her life she was a patient at the faculty to which she had given so much of her life. Claire is preceded in death by her parents and brother Earl. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Dutil; daughter, Lynn Reister of Colusa; son, Dan Dutil and his wife Paula of Williams; sister, Helene Walker of El Segundo, California; five granddaughters: Amy Reister, Sarah Reister, Heather Covarrubias, Vanessa Covarrubias, and Jennifer Dutil Hamilton. There will be a celebration of her life at Williams Neighborhood Church on Friday, January 14th, 2011 at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Williams's 4-H Club at PO Box 567, Williams or Williams Neighborhood Church at P.O. Box 1168, Williams, CA 95987. I had the privilege of working with Mrs Dutil when she worked at Valley West in the early 70's. Heaven is a little brighter with her there. She was a kind, caring, and gentle nurse the world will be a little sadder without her I will never forget her I was so blessed to have worked with her. My thoughts and prayer go out to her family God bless you all with comfort and strength thank you Claire you will be truely missed love gerri

It seems like just yesterday that, along with Claire, I spent so many hours in 4H activities with our kids as well as in bible study at the Neighborhood Church. She was steadfast, will be missed, and remembered dearly.

Mr. Dutil, Daniel and Lynn;
I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I have many great memories of times spent in your home. I know Daniel and I used to get into a bit of trouble occasionally and Claire was always there to fix things. While it is certainly painful for us here, she is no longer in any pain and is always joyous on the other side. Such a precious person who will be missed by all! My thoughts and prayers are with you now and always.

I use to live on hankins road. My maiden name was brenda bullen. She was my sewing teacher and I use to ride the horse down the canal past her place.

My sympathy to Mr. Dutil & Lynn & all your family... Claire was indeed involved in our Williams, & Colusa County community & set a fine example for us all. She would bring one of her granddaughters regularly to the WIlliams Library for Story Time when I used to read there to children & I enjoyed our short visits afterwards. May she rest in peace.

Claire was always such a sweet person. I first remember Claire as my 4-H sewing Leader as she taught me how to sew. She was a sewing Leader with my mother Violet Sorensen. I know she has touched so so many lives and she will be missed.
