Clara Salsbery Obituary

Our loving mother, Clara Betty Salsbery (Smith), was born in Oakland, California, in 1926. She passed on June 22, 2017, at home with family, to go home to be with her Lord and Savior.

She spent most of her younger years in Zayante (near Felton, California). Clara and Walter moved up to Dobbins in 1976, to get closer to the good fishing. An avid oil painter and sketcher, country girl and hiker who loved to fish, garden and spend time with her family. She was very loving, fun, hospitable, and always putting others needs ahead of hers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter W. Salsbery (just before their 70th anniversary), son, David Salsbery (age 25), brother, Carlton C. Smith, and granddaughter, Miharu Salsbery.

Family left behind, waiting for the happy reunion in heaven are, brother, Clarence Smith (Helen Smith) of Grants Pass, Oregon, son, Alexander Willian Salsbery (Jan Salsbery) of Susanville, daughter, Gayl Marie Currier (Scott Currier) of Olivehurst, and nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017, 12-4pm, at the First Baptist Church of Yuba City. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ministry of First Baptist Church of Yuba City.
