Clyde (Bill) Helton
Clyde (Bill) Helton, 79, of Yuba City, passed away on July 12, 2016 surrounded by family. He was born on March 17, 1937 in Lebanon, Virginia. He was the 6th of 8 children. Bill was an extremely hard working man and his main priority was always to take care of his family. He maintained his genuine stoic manner even into his final days.

Bill was drafted to the Army in the early 60's and served 4 years. He worked in lumber mills for many years. He retired from Sunsweet Dryer in 2002 after over 20 years of service. Bill was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and would watch them play as often as possible. He and his brother Winfred would have lengthy conversations about their beloved Red Sox. He loved camping at the ocean with his family. He also enjoyed wood working and looking for treasure with his metal detector.

Bill is survived by his daughters Karalene Helton and Kristina Lynch from Yuba City; sisters Nana Webber of Florida and Joyce Elliott of Gridley, CA; brother and Red Sox buddy, Winfred Helton of Arkansas. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and numerous other family members.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Karen, his mother Ruby Denney, father Robert Helton, step-father Marvell Denney and four siblings, Ralph and Dallas Helton, Eva Gasper and Una Morgan.

Visitation will be held at Holycross Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 19th from 5-7 p.m. Services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 20th, 11 a.m., at Crossroads Community Church. Burial will be at Sutter cemetery.
