Dale Bowers Obituary

Dale Bowers, devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and soon to be grandfather, passed away on May 16, 2017. Dale was born on September 3, 1960, to Dona and Maurice Bowers in Toledo, Ohio. Dale grew up in Toledo and attended the local schools there. He joined the army at age 17 and two year later joined the Air Force. He was stationed all over the world, including Iceland, Holland and Italy. In 1988, he was stationed at Beale Air Force Base where he worked on planes like the SR-71 and the U2. He met his future wife that Christmas and they married a year later; they had 2 daughters. Dale retired from the military in 2002, but that didn't stop him from wanting to work. He held the title of Dorm Superintendent for over 10 years at Beale, and continued to work for the DoD.

Dale was known for his quick wit, silly humor and selfless character. He loved to cook, listen to classic rock, was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan and he always kept a stash of kielbasa from Stanley's Market in Toledo.

Dale was preceded by his father Maurice Bowers Sr.; stepfather Howard Dye; brother Maurice Bowers Jr.; and sister Bonnie Lee.

Dale is survived by his wife Kellee; daughter and son-in-law Brandee and David Houillon; daughter Shelbee Bowers; all of Marysville, mother Dona Dye of Toledo; brothers Robert and Ronald Dye of Toledo; sisters Sandy McFadden of Punta Gorda,FL; Tina Decker of Toledo; as well as several sister and brother-in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

My father was my hero, and he was loved by everyone who met him. His memory will live on in all of us. His final journey will be a "piece of cake".

A service will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 10:00 am at the Lakeside Colonial Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to in his name.
