Dale Johnson
The family and friends of lifelong area resident Dale Johnson will gather at 1 p.m. Sunday to remember their son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend.

A woodcutter and landscaper, Dale was born on June 14, 1958 in Yuba City, and was raised in East Linda and Hallwood. He passed away September 29, 2013. He was 55.

In addition to operating his small business, Dale was a volunteer with the Sutter County Library Literacy Program, where he helped teach English. A 1975 graduate of Marysville High School, he will be remembered for his willingness to help others in need.

He is survived by his mother, Bette Johnson, of Hallwood, who was co-manager of the Value Village Thrift Store in Linda; his wife, Maureen Johnson, also of Hallwood; his son, Randy Johnson of Marysville, and daughter- in-law, Amy Johnson; his daughter, Tara Johnson Mangas of Yuba City, and son-in-law, Eddie Mangas; his brother, Chuck Johnson of Gardnerville, Nevada; his sister, Cindy Huber of El Dorado Hills; and four grandchildren, Evan Johnson, Parker Johnson, Austin Mangas, and Tyler Mangas.

Dale was preceded in death by his father, Everett Johnson, who retired from Pacific Gas and Electric Co., and his brother, Curtis Johnson, who worked for The Appeal-Democrat.

The gathering in Dale's memory will occur at the family home at 2234 Walnut Avenue, Hallwood.
