1928 - 2015

Dale Everson, a long-time resident of Colusa, died Friday, February 13, 2015, at the Roseville Care Center.

Born in 1928 in Vallejo, CA, Dale received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1949. She received her California State Teachers Credential in 1950 and taught school in Napa, CA.

During the 1960s, Dale was a published author, writing multiple magazine stories as well as two children's books; "The Different Dog" and "Mrs. Popover Goes to the Zoo."

In 1973, she moved to Colusa with her husband, Stanley, when they purchased Chick Montgomery's. They operated the sporting goods and ladies sportswear store for over 30 years.

Dale was a wonderful cook, loved her dogs and especially enjoyed holiday gatherings of family and friends. She loved to travel, as well as hear about the travel adventures of others. A voracious reader, Dale read constantly.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley; children, Jeffrey, Jennifer, and Pixie Baber; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her.
