Dale Nichols Obituary

Major, U.S. Army (Ret)

Born September 1, 1940, at Ava, MO, he passed away on March 15, 2015 in Yuba City, CA. He spent his formative years with his parents and two brothers in Quincy, CA, and graduated from Quincy High School in 1958.

Following high school, he enlisted in the US Army and later attended Infantry OCS and received a commission in Military Intelligence.

He retired from the Army in 1980 after tours of duty in Germany, Ethiopia, Okinawa, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and various other locations throughout the United States. While in the military, he obtained a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and graduated from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA as a Thai linguist.

Following retirement from the military service, he worked in the private sector for several years as an investigator and security consultant, and he retired for good in 1991 to pursue a leisure life of golf, fishing, camping and intense relaxation.

He is preceded in death by his father, Les Nichols in 1978; mother Elender Nichols in 2008, and brother Dean in 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vicki of Yuba City, CA; son Bradford of Yuba City, CA and brother Don of San Jose, CA.

At his request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
