David Alfred Brown Obituary

David Alfred Brown, 79, a resident of Yuba City, lost his battle to Alzheimer's and diabetes on April 18, 2017. He was born March 20, 1938, in Scott, Arkansas to Marian and Alfred Brown. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Flower, his children: David Brown (Karen), Beth Hawkins (Bob), Diane Biller (Jim), and Brian Brown (Jayann); stepchildren: David Flower and Diana Davis (Harvey); 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, siblings Kenneth Brown (Pat), Charles Ford, and Jean Billington (Bob), and Aunt Doris Henderson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Cecil Brown.

David retired in January 1997 from McClellan AFB after serving more than 40 years as a civilian. He began his career as a GS-2, tab machine operator August 1956 and retired as GM 14, Chief of the Technical Support Division. He enjoyed golfing, fly-fishing, traveling, gardening, and spending his other free time at his cabin near Ft Jones, California. For several years he was a member of the Marysville SIRS.

In keeping with his written wishes, his body was donated for research at UCD. In lieu of flowers, donate in his name to an Alzheimer's or diabetes organization. A memorial service will be held at his home in Yuba City. The date to be announced.
