Deborah J. Karnegas Obituary

Deborah (Debbie) J. Karnegas, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, December 18, 2017, at her home in Yuba City, CA. She was a lifelong resident of Yuba City, born January 1, 1955, at Rideout Memorial Hospital to Gus and Mae Karnegas. She was a graduate of Barry Elementary School and Yuba City High School and received her Associates Degree in Business Studies at Yuba College.

She then worked at Yuba College in the business department office and then became Secretary and later Office Manager for Donald J. Turano, CPA for nearly 40 years. She enjoyed her interactions with clients and her fellow employees and was very dedicated to making sure everyone was satisfied with their office visits. She was a local Notary Public for which she rendered a valuable service to clients. She enjoyed her lifelong friendships with many in the Yuba-Sutter community. She was baptized in the Greek Orthodox Church of Sacramento and later became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Yuba City. She loved her church family and served on the Pastor Parish relations committee along with helping usher for church members and guests. Her hobbies were loving animals, especially Labs and Golden Retrievers and the creative sewing arts including needle point and custom rug making. She traveled extensively in California, Colorado, and the Pacific Northwest, as well as British Columbia and Alberta including Banff National Park, and Lake Louise where some of her most cherished memories were created. Another cherished memory was attending two Rose Parades in Pasadena.

She is survived by her loving brother, David Karnegas, and uncles, aunts and many cousins, both in California and Colorado. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Mayo Clinic in Arizona for all of their medical expertise in making Debbie's life more fulfilling and complete.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm, on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Ullrey Memorial Chapel, in Yuba City, and a graveside service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2017, at 10am at Sierra View Memorial Park. The Reverend, Dr. Lois Black and Reverend, Julie Raridian, will officiate. Memorial contributions in Debbie's memory can be sent to the first United Methodist Church in Yuba City, or the Shriners Hospital of Sacramento. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
