Diane Marie Hamby Obituary

Diane Marie Hamby was born on August 12, 1956 in Lakeport, CA, to her parents Merton and Eleanor Edwards. She passed away on November 19, 2015, at the age of 59.

She spent her early years in Kelseyville, CA. Living in a small town, Diane grew up with many relatives and friends while attending the local schools. After graduating from Kelseyville High School in 1974, she moved to Yuba City and attended Yuba College, obtaining her degree in early childhood education. She worked for Headstart and later went on to work at Jack & Jill Playschool, working there for 15 years as teacher and director. She loved working with the little children, as they so wanted to learn. Over the years, when she was out and about, she saw many of the children now older, and they would always greet her with "Hi, Miss Diane". She so enjoyed seeing them again.

A wonderful new chapter in her life began in 1977 when she married David Hamby. They were married for 38 years and had three sons - Brian, Greg and Kevin - and she adored them. They were her pride and joy. Diane and David so loved and respected each other that if this old world had the love and devotion that they had for one another, what a wonderful world it would be.

Diane leaves behind her beloved husband David, her sons Brian (Erika), Greg (Lisa), and Kevin (Joy), her mother Eleanor Melville, her brothers Bart and Allen, and their families. She also leaves many dear relatives and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her father Merton, stepfather John Melville, aunts Beverly and Arline, uncle Billy, and her beloved grandma Jordan.

Much, much more could be written about Diane and her kind heart and care she gave to others. Not only loving her family, she did so many good deeds for others too. She will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Diane's Life will be held at a later date.

We so love you, Diane. You are our precious angel. Rest in peace.
