Doni-Jo Heinberger Obituary

Doni-Jo Heinberger, 60, of Yuba City, entered heaven's gates on February 1, 2018, after a 5-year battle with breast cancer. She passed peacefully at her home and is survived by her husband of 39 years, Keith; and four children; Aaron; Andon; Aubrey; and Aimelle; four grandchildren; her mother and father, Mack and Ronnie Jo Dewater; and siblings, Dave; Diane; Debbi-Lynn; and Dan.

Doni-Jo was born April 18, 1957, in San Jose, CA. She graduated from Ponderosa High School in 1975 and attended Point Loma College on a music scholarship from 1975 to 1978 before marrying the love of her life, Keith W. Heinberger.

She loved music and drama, spending 40 years passing that love onto future generations through piano and voice lessons, volunteering to teach music to the 5th graders at Olivehurst Elementary school and church drama productions. She also enjoyed singing first soprano and was a soloist with the Sacramento Master Singers. She led a madrigal-caroling group for 10 years that brought hope and peace during the holiday season to patients in the ICU & NICU wards of local area hospitals.

Doni-Jo loved spending time with family and friends and looked forward to the annual family camping trip to Fort Bragg. She loved sitting and watching the waves, feeding the seagulls, and sharing life with those around her. A dream come true for Doni-Jo was getting to take a road-trip with her husband Keith in 2016, to see the fall colors along the eastern seaboard.

Doni-Jo was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She poured herself into those around her and was a champion for truth. She delighted in beauty and held fast to her convictions. She followed her Lord Jesus Christ joyfully and steadfastly and has now entered her eternal home. We confidently look forward to seeing her again one day.

A celebration of life for Doni Jo is planned for the springtime of 2018. For those who wish to attend you can check the Support Doni Jo Facebook page in a few weeks for details.
