Donna Schanel Obituary

DONNA JUNE SCHANEL (Nee: Wood) 4/2/33 - 9/18/10 Donna was born in Oklahoma and was raised in her youth in Marysville, CA. After marrying she moved to Schaumberg, Illinois where she raised her children, Joanne and Bill. She returned to Yuba City, California, in 1987 and resided there until her passing. Donna was a devoted mother and a fun spirited, easy going, favorite relative among the Wood and also the Baker families and she has left a legacy of love and humor any many fond and fun memories with all that have survived her. She will be deeply missed. Donna's parents, Lloyd and Edna Wood, and siblings, Lloyd Wood Jr., Wilma Baker, John Wood and Betty March all preceded her in passing. She is survived by her children, JoAnne Bondurant and Bill Schanel and Joanne's husband Lloyd and grandchildren, Joshua and Jeremy; and Bill's wife, Cathy and grandchildren Vre and Fornia. Donna is also survived by her brothers, Jim Wood and Jerry Wood and over 20 nieces and nephews and many grand-nieces and nephews and other close knit family members. After surviving cancer, Donna succumbed to pneumonia she contracted following a fall and hospitalization related to the fall and a fractured pelvis. Family is comforted in knowing she has transcended all bodily and earthly ailments and is joined with and rejoicing with all of her beloved ones in heaven that preceded her in passing, where, we too, will join them one day. Graveside-Memorial Service is as follows: 1:00 pm. Friday, September 24, 2010, at Sierra View Memorial Park, 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, CA. Send Condolences www.appealdemocrat.com

Can't believe it's been almost 12 years since aunt Donna passed. With the way things are in this world today, I'm thankful she isn't here to witness it. But that doesn't stop me from missing her. So many fun and funny memories! Sending much love to Joanne, Bill, Jim and Pat and all in the Wood and Baker family who love and miss her too. Peace be with you all! Donna Jean

Dear Joanne and Bill and Woods family....you have all been in my thoughts and prayers and I am so sad that we will all miss sweet Donna June. I will miss my sweet aunt Donna (my namesake) who has been dear to me my whole life. I was just telling her that I was moving back and we were going to be swimming laps and taking walks together ...and breaking out the cards!! I was so looking forward to that and am so disappointed that I didn't get to have more time with her. Steve loved her too and thought the world of her and was sad to hear about her passing. I pray you get sweet visits with her in your dreams as I have had a few times with my mom. Love you so much! Donna Jean
