Donna May (Edwards) Davis Thomas Obituary

Donna Davis Thomas went peacefully home to Heaven, on the morning of January 19th, 2018, at her home in Hallwood, California.

She was born in Grass Valley, CA, to Chester and Berniece Edwards. She met her husband, Donald L. Davis, in the summer of 1951. The couple were
married in Reno, Nevada on December 23rd, 1951. During the course of their marriage they had 4 children, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Donna was a very devoted wife and mother, she taught Sunday School for many years at Hallwood Community Church of the Nazarene and was a 4-H project leader, PTA President and a member of the Hallwood Women's Club. She worked locally for Sunsweet and for J.C. Penney's as a sales associate in the 1960's and 1970's. She recieved her ECE Certificate for Yuba Community College around 1985 and taught preschool for a number of years before retiring.

In 1994, Donna renewed her friendship with former classmate, Robert Thomas. They soon married and made their home in the community of Hallwood for the next 16 years.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald L. Davis; granddaughter, Rebecca Damon; second husband, Robert Thomas; son-in-law, Michael Sherrin; and her daughter, Jenny Archer.

She is survived by her daughters, Loree Davis; and Lydia Davis-Sherrin; her son, Jeff Davis (Julie); sister, Lorna Goertz ( John ); brothers, Ralph Edwards (Mary); and Leon Dearinger; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of her life at 11am, on Saturday, January 27th, 2018, at the Hallwood Community Church, 2825 State Hwy 20, Marysville, CA 95901.
