Doris Jackson Bock Obituary

Doris Jackson Bock, well known and loved resident in the Sheridan, MT area, passed away suddenly this past Friday, December 30th, 2016. Doris was born 82 years ago in the same house in which she currently lived, the "Jackson House".

Doris Jackson was born in July, 1934 of Leona and Frank Jackson, longtime residents of Sheridan. Her father, Frank Jackson started the bakery on Main Street where folks enjoyed the homemade ice cream, cinnamon rolls and sodas that were popular at that time. Frank and Leona Jackson had four children, Frankie, Arthur, Leslie (Bing) and the youngest, Doris, all of whom have preceded her on into the next journey.

Doris was always very popular through her school years, very active as a cheerleader, and valedictorian of her graduating class. After graduating high school, she married the love of her life, Ernest Bock. Ernie was admitted into an Air Force Officer Training Center as a cadet, so Doris followed him to Texas, secretly married, until his commissioning. For several years thereafter Doris and husband, Ernest, were assigned to various Air Force bases. She supported Ernie's premed and dental school training, working as a secretary. The happy couple had two children Kathleen and Thomas Bock.

Doris and Ernie wer longtime residents of Yuba City before moving back to Montana in 2013. Over the years, Doris worked outside of her home, balancing work, and family. As a homemaker Doris loved caring for and recreating with her family, water and snow skiing, gardening, cooking, and painting.

Doris was always loved by everyone who met her. She was always loving and supportive, never having a mean or derogatory thing to say about anyone. She was referenced by her family as "Saint Doris".

Doris is deeply loved and greatly missed by everyone. She had touched and influenced many lives with her loving personality, excellent example and personal relationships. We, her friends and family feel that she will always be a part of us in our hearts and memories.

Doris is survived by her loving husband, Dr. Ernest Bock, and children, Kathy and Don Stewart, and Thomas Bock and Kurt Harala.

Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, January 5th, 2017 at the United Methodist Church of Sheridan, MT. Cremation has taken place in the care of K&L Mortuary.
