Dorothy Lorraine Quigg was born June 26, 1930 and passed away on April 23, 2016, at the age of 85. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Debbie Caskey Browne (Kenneth). She is also survived by Gregory Caskey (Susan), who was considered as a son; four grandchildren, Stephanie Caskey Olver (Ben), Christopher Caskey, Lauren Browne Fennell (William), and Leslie Browne Mull (Bradley); four great grandchildren, Nolan, Zeke, Hayden and Erin; Bonnie Harnish, a dear friend who was like a daughter; and many loving extended family members and cherished friends. Dorothy was blessed with loved ones who became family. She was preceded in death by her son Ron, and husband Cecil. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and aunt who loved unconditionally and enjoyed being with family and friends.

Dorothy married the love of her life, Cecil Quigg, when he returned home from World War II. They had 68 wonderful years together with a love story that lasted a lifetime. Cecil and Dorothy farmed in the Live Oak area for many years. Dorothy's early working years were at Harter Packing Company as a secretary to the Harters and then as secretary for the Yuba Sutter Chamber of Commerce. She took great pride in her career as Administrative Secretary to the Superintendent of Live Oak Unified School District, retiring in 1990, after serving for 23 years. She was respected and admired by the teachers, staff and community of Live Oak for her devotion and loyal service to the school district.

Dorothy and her husband Cecil were well known as a team and worked together to give back to the community that they loved. They were active members of the Live Oak District Chamber of Commerce, where they helped organize and plan many activities and awards banquets. They were also active supporters of the Live Oak Unified School District and especially Encinal Elementary School. Dorothy served as a member of the Board of Trustees for Encinal School District before it became part of the Live Oak Unified School District. Dorothy was a long standing member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West. She and Cecil enjoyed trips to visit their grandchildren, cruises and extensive traveling, a special trip around the United States with dear friends C.J. and Lois Stonecipher, and the last few years, annual trips to Bodega Bay with special friends.

Dorothy was well known for her event planning skills, and she enjoyed hosting parties and having lunches with friends and loved ones. She remained in contact with special classmates from Yuba City High School and enjoyed attending annual get-togethers to keep in touch. Dorothy was a gracious, poised, kind and loving woman who touched all with whom she came in contact. She was cherished and loved by everyone who knew her.

The family wishes to acknowledge Stanford Hospital, especially Dr. Shia Friedland and awesome nurse Theresa Keith for their dedication and loving support throughout Dorothy's treatment procedures.

Dorothy's Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016, from 2:00-4:00 pm, at The Bonanza in Yuba City. Burial will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Sutter Memorial Cemetery.
