Dorothy Phyliss Walls Obituary

Dorothy Phyliss Walls, a long time resident of Meridian, CA, passed away on December 28, 2014 at her home.

Dorothy was born on May 12, 1924 in Sycamore, to Howard and Edna Burtis Nall. Her mother died when Dorothy was very young and she was raised by her father and step-mother Velma Rowley Nall. At the age of thirteen the Nall's home burned to the ground, but this property in Meridian is where Dorothy returned later in life and lived until her death.

Dorothy worked many seasons at Harters Cannery before retiring. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking care of her animals. Dorothy enjoyed the everyday duties of maintaining her well- kept property, from caring for the fruit trees to riding the lawn mower. In her youth, Dorothy was passionate about dancing and we envision her now - dancing in heaven.

Dorothy is survived by her son Delno Rush (Catherine), step-daughters Connie Smith (Glenn) and Anna Palermo, grand-daughters Dana Colman (John), Jill Watson (Erik), Kelly Henry (Craig), Thana Hayward, and Aundrea Mills (Eric), nine great grand-daughters, nieces Stephanie DeHoffe and Sherrill Nall, cousins Betty Lee Perry and Betty Meyer, brother- in-law Dan Brown, special friends; Lori and Hank Lemon and Brenda and Larry Shrider.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved brother Stanford Nall, her son Larry Rush, her husband John Walls, life long friend Jim "Grover" Johnson whom she knew since kindergarten, her nephew Leman Meyer, sister-in-law Peggy Brown and other dear family members and friends.

At Dorothy's request there will be no funeral service.
