Dudley Ray Showman Obituary

Dudley Showman, better known as "The Dud" passed away March 5, 2014 in Sacramento, Ca.

He was born on August 29, 1937 in Mount Jackson, Va. to the late Charles and Mary Showman.

After serving in the Air Force he relocated to Lake Tahoe, Ca., where he met his wife of five years, the late Laura Peter.

He was an accomplished heavy equipment operator at Sugar Bowl Ski Resort, where he worked for over 35 years and made many life-long friends before retiring in 2000 and moving to Sac, where he devoted his time to his family. He was happiest when with his grand-children, and his favorite past-time was watching the Raiders.

He will be remembered for his honesty and kindness and will be deeply missed. His "Little Buddy" Adrian was the light of his life and will forever cherish the memories he made with his papa, his best friend.

Dudley is survived by his sister, Evelyn; nephew George; children, Dwayne; Deanna; Lissa; step-son, Ben Peter; 8 grand-children, 6 great grand-children, and his dog "JoJo".

A memorial will be held at the Parish Hall on Sunday, March 23 at 2:00 at 1042 Marcum Road in Nicolaus Ca. 95659.
