Earl Duane DuShane, age 99, passed away on Feb. 3, 2013 at home in Fallon, NV.|
He was born on Oct. 17, 1913 in Charles City, Iowa to Jesse Earl and Leva (Gunderson) DuShane. Earl lived many places during his life including Marysville, CA, where he raised sheep after he retired. He had lived in Fallon since 2003.
Earl retired as a Senior Chief Petty Ofcr. from the United States Navy. He also retired after 25 years from Cal. Division of Highways (now Cal Trans).
He was an active member the Fleet Reserve Association, Stillwater Firearms Association, National Rifle Association (Endowment Member), Association of Aviation Ordinancemen, VFW and American Legion Post 16. Earl had many friends and always had a story to tell. He loved the shooting sports and was an avid reader of history and military subjects.
He is preceded in death by his parents; older brother and his wife L. June Bishop DuShane.
He is survived by his sons Jesse (Cheryl) DuShane, of Fallon, NV; Erick (Carla) DuShane, of Pasco, WA, and daughter Linda Brouillard of Appleton, WI; and 8 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. He is also survived by his beloved companion "Queenie".
He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday March 9, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the LDS Chapel, 125 W. Tolas Place, Fallon, NV. For more information please call Cheryl at 775-867-4613.
