Earl Leroy Miller Obituary

Earl Leroy Miller passed away on July 21, 2017, in Coos Bay, Oregon at the age of 84.

Earl was born March 12, 1933, in Yuba City, CA. He was the last of four children born to the late Garner and Erma Miller of Yuba City. Earl met the love of his life, the former Ardith Lahmann while attending Yuba City High School and they married July 8, 1951.

The family quickly grew as Valerie, Andrew and then Stephen was born. Earl worked various jobs while also finding time to volunteer for the Yuba City Lions Club.

The family moved to Los Altos, CA, where Earl started the family business, The Miller's Dry Cleaning Service "The Shop", in the early 60's, but not before enduring the destruction that the Christmas Eve 1955 levee break and Yuba City flood did to their Y.C. home and community.

Earl especially enjoyed coaching his sons in Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and working alongside his daughter at The Shop. He served on the Little League board of directors and was instrumental in bringing the T-Ball division for the youngest Little League kids to Los Altos.

In the late 70's Earl and Ardith retired to Nevada City, CA, before settling in Bandon, Oregon. Earl was active in the Bandon Lions Club up until his death.

Earl is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ardith; his children, Valerie Watkins, Andrew (Lolly) Miller, Stephen (Linda) Miller; Grandchildren, Angela, Aimee, Grant, Alycia, Andrea and Daniel; as well as 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert and Bub; and his dear sister Dorothy.

Earl will be dearly missed by his family, those he treated like his own, and others whose lives were touched by his commitment to community service.

At Earl's request, there will be no services
