Edgar Charles Hanlin Obituary

Edgar Charles Hanlin of Marysville, CA, passed away on December 17, 2015. Edgar was born on September 2, 1929 in Colorado He has been a resident of the Yuba-Sutter area for 71 years.

Edgar was in the US Army from 1950 -1953 and served in the Korean War as an airplane mechanic.

Survivors include his wife, Arelia Hanlin of Marysville, CA, Roger K. Hanlin (Suzanne) of Yuba City, CA, Kathy Hanlin- McPherrin ( Richard) of Live Oak, CA, granddaughter Liesl McPherrin of San Mateo, CA, granddaughter Cyndi McPherrin of Granite Bay, CA, stepgranddaughter Nicki Chapman of Marysville CA, stepdaughter Shari Champagne (Kelly) of Marysville, CA, stepson Jim Barry of Loma Rica, CA, seven nieces and two nephews, including Janis Hanlin Doyal, Marcy DeMartile, Greg Perrucci, and David Golden. Many nieces, nephews, grand and great grandchildren of his blended family who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by Marjorie Ellen Hanlin, his wife of 54 years and his brother Hank Mitchell Hanlin.

Edgar was a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Yuba City, California Land Surveyors Association, National Society of Professional Surveyors, Covered Wagon Squares and the Dancing Club.

A Veteran's burial will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, 2023 Hwy. 99 North, Gridley. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 pm at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 1390 Franklin Road, Yuba City. Garrett Andrew will officiate
