Ella Mae Smalling Obituary

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful wife, Ella Mae Smalling, went home to be with the Lord. Born May 26, 1941 in Sommonsville, AZ, Ella Mae worked for IHSS and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Joe Smalling and her husband of 59 years, Joe Smalling.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay Kenyon, Mary Marquette, Kathy White, Della Smalling-Robinson and Ella Smalling. She is also survived by her loving sons-in-law John Kenyon, David Marquette, Mike Robinson and Kenny White, as well as her 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Ella Mae Smalling was the perfect example of what it means to love with all we have. Everyone who came into contact with her could feel her genuine love, care and kindness. She greatly loved the Lord and expressed that love through direct worship to him and by taking care of all around her.

Though it is hard to imagine the rest of our days without seeing her smile, hearing her laugh or playing just one more game of cards, we know that she is doing all those things and more in heaven, where there is no more pain or sorrow for evermore.

Services will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at New Life Assembly, located at 5736 Arboga Rd., Olivehurst, CA 95961 at 1:30 pm followed by a get together to be announced following the service. Please come to celebrate her life through stories and fond memories of the amazing woman she was. Thank you, God bless.
