Ernest Lawrence Krause Obituary

Ernest Lawrence Krause of Grass Valley died on April 11, 2015. He was born on January 24, 1923 in Grand Forks, ND of Carl Krause and Blanche (Watska) Krause and grew up in Neche, ND. Ernest served in the U. S. Navy Air Force during WWII as a radioman on a PBY in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska, in various bases in the US, on the coast of Brazil and over the Atlantic.

Ernest held a Master of Science degree from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. He also attended the Univ. of Wyoming, Arizona State, Carleton College in MN, and the Pontifical Univ. in Salamanca Spain. He taught the Life Sciences in schools in CA and ND, finishing his career with 28 years at Yuba College in Marysville, CA. Ernest was a member of the society of Sigma Xi and The American Dowsers Society.

Ernest retired in 1987 and he and his wife, Sally traveled throughout the U. S. as well as 23 counties around the world. He enjoyed woodworking and photography.

Ernest is survived by Sally, his wife of 67 years; and his children Betty, Marcus, Gail, Shirley, Karen, Julie and Joseph; 12 grandchildren; and his sister, Martha Bishop.

End of life arrangement are handled by The Neptune Society. There will be a gathering of family and friends at his daughter's home in Sacramento, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Yuba College Foundation in Marysville, CA.
