Ethel Owens Obituary

Ethel was born February 20, 1919 in Leon, Iowa. Ethel passed away on Sept. 23, 2010 in Vancouver, Washington. She was a Yuba County resident for over 75 years. Ethel is survived by two sons, Kenneth (Peggy) Owens of Olivehurst, CA, Dave (Sheila) Owens of Washougal, Washington; two grandchildren, Ken Jr. (Angela) Owens of Coeur D' Alene, Idaho, Heather (Phil) Rauscher of Reno, Nevada; great grandchildren: Brianna and Kacie Owens of Couer D' Alene, Idaho, Jack Rauscher of Reno, Nevada; numerous nieces and nephews. Ethel worked in the hardware business for over 40 years. She started in Brainerd's Hardware in Olivehurst in 1960 and moved on to Big R Ranch and Home after Brainerd's closed. She then went to work for PV Ranch and Supply in Yuba City, and retired when she was 77 years of age. She was always a hard worker and enjoyed her work. She loved to go to Reno and play the slots. She also loved her roses and tending to them. She was preceded in death by Delmer Owens; Ethel's siblings: Victor Graham, Lois Longest, Billy Graham, Elinor Ottenwalter; and her mother, Ruth Graham. She will be missed by her family and especially her grandchildren. Service will be held Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at Lipp & Sullivan in Marysville, CA at 11:30am. Burial will be at Sutter Cemetery. Ethel was not only my nail client for 15 years, she was my friend.

She was like the grandma I never had. I loved her, her sence of humor, her great work ethic and gardening skills.
Ruth and Elenor were great as well.
Ethel was an inspiration to me and alot of others.
She will be missed dearley.
My deepest simpathy to all the family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Ethels passing. She was a great lady with a big heart and a great sense of humor. I know what she meant to her family. Words don't adequately express feelings but I hope these bring you comfort.

I remember Ethel from PV Ranch and Home. She was a hard worker and respected others who were hard workers. And she sure knew her hardware business. She will be remembered by many with fond memories.
