Obituary Condolences

Evaline C. Woolard, our loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend, left us to be with our Lord in Heaven on Friday, October 31, 2014.

Evaline, better known as Evelyn, Evie, Annie's Grandma, or Nana was born August 24, 1927 to Simon and Mary Eberhard in Campbell, MO. In 1949 she married John F. Woolard and a few years later they relocated to California, where they raised their two children.

Evelyn was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marysville, CA. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting baby blankets and afghans. She was a wonderful cook and could make a great meal out of almost anything. Her fried okra, and chicken and dumplings were unsurpassed! One of her greatest passions was gardening. She had a green thumb and grew numerous vegetables. Her specialty was always cucumbers, beets, and tomatoes from which she canned spicy dill pickles, pickled beets, and homemade tomato juice.

Evelyn was a gentle, peaceful soul who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She was an extremely kind and compassionate person who loved unconditionally, and always put the needs of others first. She was a hard worker, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, never expecting anything in return. Her greatest joy in life was her family, who she loved dearly. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Simon and Mary Eberhard, her husband, John F. Woolard, and her sisters, Irene Eberhard of St. Charles, MO, and Rosella Bader of Campbell, MO.

She is survived by her son, Richard Woolard, of Walnut Creek, CA and daughter Rebecca Wooten and husband Dean, of Marysville, CA, and her granddaughter Annie Wooten of Marysville, CA. Her brother Joseph Eberhard and his wife Ann of St. Charles, MO. Step granddaughter Jennifer Benson and her husband Grant of Biggs, CA, and step grandson Justin Wooten of Oroville, CA, as well as four step great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be at Ullrey Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 from 4-6 pm, 817 Almond St., Yuba City, CA 95991.

A Rosary will be recited at 9:00 am on Wednesday, November 5, 2014, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 702 C Street, Marysville, CA 95901. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall.

Following the reception, she will be laid to rest at Sierra View Memorial Park & Mortuary, 4900 Olive Ave., Olivehurst, at 1:30 pm.

Her family would like to thank all her friends for their continued friendship and support throughout the years, and all her doctors, nurses, and medical staff for their care and compassion.
