Flora Ferri Heron

Born in San Francisco, CA July 10, 1925; passed away peacefully at her Sacramento home on October 26, 2010 at the age of 85. Flora is survived by her only son, Allan Davis, his wife, Nancy and two grandsons, Cody and Clayton. She is also survived by two sisters, Anna Young, Norma (Bill) Reece, and brother, Louie (Murial) Ferri, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Clark, mother and father, Joseph and Ermelinda Ferri and sister, Iola (Frank) Covington. Forever remembered by her step-grandchildren, Brian Emerson (Kim) and Tricia (Ab) Alvarez and their children Micah, Devon, Zach, Jonah, Jaidyn, and Maddy. She will be missed by her many friends. A graduate of Live Oak School. She attended Yuba College and graduated from Sacramento State. Her love of music began as a child playing the accordion, piano and extended to her passion for the opera. In addition, Flora was a business woman. She owned and operated the Loyalton hotel, bar and restaurant. She taught school in the early 50's at Alicia school in the Linda School District. After the passing of her husband, Vern Clark, she became a partner with Dick Cunha at Clark Trucking, Co. Flora led a full life and gave back to the community, volunteering with the Cancer League, Sacramento Symphony, and Children's home. She led an active lifestyle and played golf and bridge at Del Paso Country Club. She spent her younger years skiing, hunting and traveling, and enjoyed her American Saddle bred horses. A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2010 from 10am-2pm at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95819.
