Frank Louis Ferraiuolo Obituary

Frank was born on October 9, 1932 and went to be with his Heavenly Father on February 20, 2017. He and his sister Carol were both born in the family home at 3rd and Sioc Street in Colusa. He lived in Colusa all his life. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Angeline and Louis Ferraiuolo.

Frank attended Colusa schools, graduating from Yuba College, as well as Chico State, where he earned his BA degree in 1955. While at Yuba College, he met Joanne Bledsoe, and they were married on June 19, 1955. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage, making many wonderful memories along the way. They loved working as a team. They enjoyed working on their home, camping, traveling, making stained glass projects, and much more.

After college, Frank served in the U.S. Army at Fort Knox, KY and Fort Irwin, CA. After being discharged from the Army, he returned to Colusa to begin his teaching career. He taught for the Colusa Unified School District until he retired in 1989. He was principal at Egling Middle School for 4 years. He also taught night classes for Yuba College.

Frank loved sports, and excelled in football, baseball, and softball. He played semi-pro baseball for the Colusa Pruners. He was known as "The Colusa Comet." He also loved hunting and fishing. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame for Yuba College, Chico State, Colusa County, and Old Timers.

Frank was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Colusa where he served as an Elder. He and Joanne served on Young Life Committee, and well as being part of Marriage Encounter. He loved his church, his family, his friends, bible study, and being a Christian. He also enjoyed speaking at the Twin Cities Rescue Mission in Yuba City.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne, and 3 sons: Mike, Dave (Jolynn), and Jeff (Shelly). He also is survived by 5 grandchildren, Nick, Alyssa, Andrew, and Cassie Ferraiuolo, Stephanie Bernstors, 2 step-grandchildren, Taylor Peay, and Ryan Mead; great grandchildren: Kaiden and Ashland Bernstors. He is also survived by his sister Carol, of Willows.

A memorial service celebrating Frank's life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Colusa, at 326 Jay St. A reception will follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in Frank's memory in lieu of flowers to the First Presbyterian Church of Colusa, P.O. Box 623, Colusa, CA 95932.
