Gail Marie McGehee Obituary

Gail Marie Colville McGehee, age 70, of Yuba City, CA, went to her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, CA, following a stroke. She was born October 23, 1946 in Valley City, ND, to Burton Eugene Colville and Eleanor Hazel Zaun Colville.

Gail grew up and attended public school in Valley City. She moved to California in the 1980s where she had a career in retail management, retiring in 2011. Gail was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, fully dedicated to her loved ones. She possessed a tender, compassionate spirit, was a hard worker and an energetic go-getter, always willing to help and encourage others. She enjoyed fishing, playing games, doing arts and crafts, music, gardening, and shopping. She will be remembered for her kindness, her broad, easy smile, her sense of humor, and her infectious laugh.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents and stepmother Grace Martens Colville, grandson Jesse Ray Lende, brother Stephen Edward Colville, and her beloved husband of 23 years, Richard Lee McGehee.

Left to mourn her loss are her sons David Laurence Lende and Walter Ray Lende of Yuba City, CA, Michael James (Sindie) Lende of Hunter, ND, Lauri Ann Lende and Daniel Burton (Crystal) Lende of Horace, ND, and Terry Eugene Lende (Casselton, ND), 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; sister Shari Anderson (Lloyd) Fassett of Knoxville, TN, brothers Eugene John (Jacki) Colville and Keith Burton (Susan) Colville of Valley City, ND, stepbrother William (Becky) Martens of Clinton, MT; three nieces, four nephews, her extended family of long time friends, including Lain (Patty) Moss and Troy (Veronica) Moss of Yuba City, CA, and her pet dogs Zoe and Ginger.

A memorial service in celebration of Gail's life will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Chapel of the Twin Cities, 715 Shasta, Yuba City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tri-Counties Blue Star Moms, 1282 Stabler Lane, Suite 630, Yuba City, CA 95993 or the ResPaws Animal Rescue Volunteer Organization, 865 Colusa Avenue, Yuba City, CA 95991. Condolences may be sent to the Chapel of the Twin Cities.

Interment will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery with her husband Rick.
