1956 - 2016 Obituary Condolences

Gail Francine (Turner) Smith, age 59, died of heart failure on January 30, 2016, in Santa Barbara, California.

Gail was born on March 12, 1956 in Monroe, MI, to parents John and Irene Turner. She graduated at age 17 in 1973 from Edward Tilden High School in Chicago, IL. In 1989, she moved to Live Oak, Ca, where she settled down to raise her children and enjoy her grandchildren.

Gail was a loving, Christian woman who was involved in church and Bible study for the majority of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, she spent numerous hours on the family genealogy, working with animals and gardening, exploring online deals to share with others, fishing, and watching her sons play softball. Her family and friends will always remember her as a generously giving, accepting, and funny person.

Gail is survived by her son, Leroy Smith, Jr., his wife Katheryn, and their 4 children, Nathan, Garrett, Jesse and Sara, of Live Oak, Ca; her son Joseph H. Smith, of Live Oak, Ca; her daughter, Rebecca Burgess, her husband Christopher and their 3 children, Kevin, Logan, and Michael of Santa Barbara, Ca; and her son Jason Smith, his wife Trina and their 10 children Tara, Michael, Anthony, Isaiah, Mara, Valerie, Vanessa, Shontaisha, Jaylene, and Jason, Jr., of Yuba City, Ca; her sisters Joyce Turner McGinley and Millie Turner Cheatham, and her brother John Turner, Jr., and their families of TN. She is preceded in death by her parents John and Irene Turner, her husband, Leroy Smith, Sr., of Live Oak, Ca; her dear friend, Norman Anders Dodge, of Live Oak, Ca; and her brother, Ralph Edward Turner, of Knoxville, TN.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at 6:00 PM with a reception to follow at Victory Chapel 10615 Live Oak Blvd/Hwy 99, Live Oak, California 95953. Pastor Timothy Stewart will officiate. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Gail's life. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during this difficult time.
