Gerald Dale "Jerry" McCartney Obituary

Gerald (Jerry) Dale McCartney, 75, of Olivehurst, CA, peacefully passed away on March 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family due to Alzheimer's disease.

Jerry was born on June 19, 1941 to Pete McCartney and Betty Miller. Jerry is survived by his loving wife Mary of 55 years, and his 5 children, Patty (Roger) Prado, Steven McCartney, Carolyn (Jerry) Sawyer, Sarah (Tim) Allen and Jerry (Melissa) McCartney Jr.; 8 grandchildren, Roger, Cody, Jacob, Ryan, Chase, Carson, Alisa and Alexi, 3 great grandchildren, Roger, Rudy and Zane, and 2 dogs, Suzy and Zeus. Other survivors include his stepfather Frank Miller Sr., brothers Ron and Frankie and sisters Ruth and Rosemary.

He worked in construction at a very young age. He was employed by Baldwin Construction Company for many years and was a proud member of Laborers Local 185. He retired in 2001.

Family meant everything to Jerry. Occasionally singing and playing his harmonica and enjoying family gatherings, he spent his spare time camping with his family, fishing, building home projects, gardening, and sharing a nice cold beer.

Jerry was known for his good wits and sense of humor. He was a fun loving and outspoken man. A wonderful and kindhearted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a good friend to many, Jerry will truly be missed by all.

He is preceded in death by his parents Pete McCartney and Betty Miller, sister Cassalien Miller and great grandson Zane Prado.
