Gerald Eugene (Gary) Drumheller Obituary

Gerald (Gary) Eugene Drumheller, age 65, passed away in Coos Bay, OR, September 17, 2014 with his wife Cheryl and daughters Christine and Candice at his side.

Gary was born on December 29, 1948, in Wabash, Indiana. He met Cheryl Rae Pedersen in high school and they married on June 10, 1967 in San Leandro, CA. After living in Marysville for several years, they moved to North Bend, OR.

After completing his tour in Vietnam with the U. S. Army, he lived in Marysville and attended Yuba College. Employment included SBS, retail management in the construction field and Pacific Bell Telephone customer service in Marysville. He also owned his own business specializing in general construction.

As a young man, when he was not working he enjoyed fishing, camping, and photography. After retirement he enjoyed traveling throughout scenic Oregon, spending time with his grandchildren, and attending to the various species of birds in their gardens. He was a supporter of Boy Scouts of America, Linda Elementary School PTA, 4-H, Camp Fire USA, and a member of First United Methodist Church, Marysville, and First United Methodist Church, Coos Bay, OR.

Predeceased by his son, Arthur (Arte) Drumheller of Marysville, his brother, Marlin (Leroy) Drumheller, and his mother Wanetta Drumheller. Survived by daughters, Christine England of Kodiak, AK, Candice Hernandez of Sacramento, CA; father, Roy Drumheller, and sister Teresa Baird of Placerville, CA. Also, survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Drumheller of Browns Valley, Marina England, Allyssa England, Adam Hernandez and Jeremiah Hernandez.

Donations in his honor can be made to and Disabled American Veterans.

Celebration of Life to be held at First United Methodist Church, 730 D Street, Marysville, CA on October 4, 2014, 2:00 pm. Gary was cremated through the Neptune Society and will be interned at Sierra View Memorial Park.
